Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Petmodoro does with your data. We keep it short and plain.

1. Who we are

Petmodoro is a focus timer with a companion cat. It is published by BlueBurp Studio. Contact for privacy questions: privacy@petmodoro.app

2. The short version

• The timer works without an account. Without an account, your data stays on your device.
• If you make an account, we store your email, your progress and what you own, so that your devices stay in sync.
• Free users on Android see ads outside the timer screen. Paid users see none.
• We do not sell your data.
• You can delete your account and all its data at any time.

3. Data that stays on your device

Without an account, Petmodoro saves your sessions, settings, items and Rio’s state in your browser or on your phone. We do not receive it. If you clear your browser data or uninstall the app, it is gone.

4. Account data

When you sign in with Google or with an email link, we receive:

• your email address;
• your Google profile name, if you sign in with Google (we do not read your contacts, calendar or other Google data).

We use this only to run your account, to keep you signed in, and to contact you about your account (for example the sign-in email). We do not send marketing email unless you ask for it.

5. Synced data

If you are signed in, we store on our servers (Cloudflare):

• your focus sessions (start, length, mode, completion);
• your settings;
• your items, room layout, currencies and progress in Rio’s world.

We use it to show the same progress on every device you use. We do not use it to profile you or to show targeted ads.

6. Ads

Free users on Android see ads from Google AdMob. Ads never appear on the timer screen.

• AdMob may use your device’s advertising ID and other device data to show and measure ads.
• In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and other places that require it, we ask for your consent before ads use personal data. You can change your choice later in the app settings.
• You can reset or turn off your advertising ID in your Android settings.
• Paid users do not see ads, and the app does not load the ads service for them.

7. Purchases

• On Android, purchases go through Google Play. Google handles your payment details.
• On the web, purchases go through our payment provider (Creem or Dodo Payments), which acts as the seller of record and handles your payment details.
• We never see or store your card number.
• We store what you bought (your entitlements) so that it works on all your devices.

8. Analytics and cookies

The website counts page views with a small counter that sets no cookies and does not follow you across sites. The website has no third-party advertising or tracking scripts. The app does not use analytics that identify you. We keep a sample of error reports (the error message, the app version and the device type) to fix bugs. They do not contain your email or your progress.

9. Pet photos (when this feature is available)

If you use “your own pet from a photo”:

• you upload a photo of your pet; we store it in private storage and send it to an image service we use to make your pet’s picture;
• we use the photo only to make your pet;
• we delete the uploaded photo after your pet is made, or within 30 days at the latest, or sooner if you ask;
• do not upload photos of people.

10. Children

Petmodoro is not for children under 13 (or the age set by your local law). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child gave us data, write to privacy@petmodoro.app and we will delete it.

11. Where data is stored and who processes it

Data may be processed in the United States and other countries.

12. How long we keep data

• Account and synced data: until you delete your account.
• After you delete your account: we delete your data within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep (for example purchase records for tax).
• Error samples: 90 days.
• Backups: removed within 35 days.

13. Your choices and rights

You can:

• see and export your data;
• correct it;
• delete your account and data: in the app under Settings, on the website under Account, or by email to privacy@petmodoro.app;
• withdraw your consent for ads at any time.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you have more rights, such as objecting to processing or complaining to your data protection authority. Write to privacy@petmodoro.app and we will answer within 30 days.

14. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), we sign you in without passwords, and we limit who can reach the data. No system is perfectly safe, but we work to protect your data.

15. Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we tell you in the app or on the website before the change starts. The date at the top shows the latest update.
